JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Retail Assistant Manager, your primary function is to sell tire units, preventative maintenance services and any other product or service we offer. You are accountable for helping customers select the best product and or service for their vehicle, and for providing the greatest level of customer service to every individual in the store. Most importantly, you are responsible for ensuring the customer leaves with a safe vehicle, in accordance to Kauffman Tire, RMA and other manufacturer standards. The successful assistant manager is able to consistently provide excellent customer service, drive sales, and further develop their own product knowledge.



The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:
-- Greet customers with a smile and a helpful attitude
-- Carefully listen to the customer with regard to request or issue
-- Promptly arrange for vehicle service or repair action
-- Develop a repair estimate based upon the technician's diagnosis
-- Monitor service/repair action and inform customer of progress
-- Generate invoices and handle payment transactions (cash, point-of-sale, or electronic payment media)
-- Perform customer follow-up courtesy call to ensure delivery met expectations
-- Perform marketing activities such as networking, calling upon businesses for fleet servicing, and promotions to existing and new clientele
-- Assist shop management in maintaining appropriate inventory levels, including the purchase of parts and materials
-- Perform administrative functions in support of management
-- May be required to assist in diagnosis and repairs of vehicles, including tire changing
-- Perform general shop housekeeping
 
 
REQUIREMENTS
  Post high school degree or coursework desired
  Previous retail experience
  Automotive technical knowledge a plus
  Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
  Excellent motivator and team player
  Excellent communication and organizational skills
  Exceptional customer service skills
  Point-of-sale and electronic payment media skills desired
  Certain positions may require a current driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle record or driving history.
